Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SSNHL)
SSNHL is commonly seen in audiology and otolaryngology practice. Individual present with sudden loss of hearing, tinnitus, vertigo, happing less than 72 hours of time. Hearing loss may vary from mild to profound and most often it is unilateral in nature. The majority of times an aetiology remain unknown. Prognosis depends on many factors like severity of loss, age, any other systematic conditions (i.e. Diabetes). Commonly treated with medication, carbogen therapy. It’s a medical emergency and needs urgent attention.
